This past week I spent my time at Camp Squanto in Plymouth MA. I re did my climbing directors certification. This is one of the coures that does not have a recert weekend you MUST go through the course again. We did our off site climbing at Quincy Quarry just outside Boston. 1 1/4 hour road trip each way and we did this Monday Tuesday and Wednesday.
Pretty much all I have said here is what it is. 13 for the MB restricted by COS. There are alot of myths out there about BSA Climbing. SO to put it as easy as possible. Read the 2007 National Standards. If it is not there it is not true. This does not address age as that is in COS. If you operate outside of the National Standards ?Not A Good Thing ! Anyone that is a Climbing MB Counselor MUST operate within those guidelines. This includes outfitters etc as the local council approves them as counselors and as long as they are within these standards the liability for the council is nil.
