California's Fishing Passport Program

Hello All!

My name is Ed Roberts; I am a Marine Biologist working for the California Department of Fish and Game. I am also an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 129 and merit badge counselor in the Pacific Rivers District of the Redwood Empire Council.

My purpose in posting here is to make other fishing merit badge counselors in California aware of DFG's new Fishing Passport Program, which is intended to highlight the multitude of fishing opportunities that California has to offer, and to encourage new and experienced anglers to try something new.

I believe that the passport program will be an effective tool to help merit badge counselors to promote the sport and teach important conservation ethics to our young anglers.
