Disability Awareness - New pamphlet and requirements

Postby PaulSWolf » Fri Jun 03, 2005 5:40 pm

BSA has published a new merit badge pamphlet for the Disability Awareness Merit Badge, which was one of the oldest pamphlets around. The pamphlet and requirements were last updated in 1993.

The pamphlets have completely new requirements. Scouts that have the old pamphlet, or start the badge between now and January 1, 2006 can use the old requirements, or they can use the new ones at their option.

The new requirements are posted on the new usscouts.org server. at either http://usscouts.org/mb/old/mb060.html or http://65.38.184.167/mb/old/mb060.html (depending on whether the DNS nameservers have our new IP Address.) If you get the old requirements with the first URL, use the second one.

I must say, Paul, I'm really impressed with the new requirements for this MB. (And thanks, again, for your efforts and bringing your knowledge to these forums.)

Thanks RW. It was a LONG time between updates for some of the badges that changed, so improvements were definitely in order.

I hope to have the info on the update for Whitewater, which also has a new pamphlet, in a couple of days.
