All of the information you need to know for the Public Health Merit Badge can be found at: www.who.int
It's from the World Health Organization, and I found every thing I needed to know.

Also For the requirement where you have to visit a Public Health Facility, if you go to one from the state government, you can pass it off
for the Citizenship in the Nation requirement where you have to visit a government installment.

Looks like visiting a food service facility would also give guys an easy opportunity to learn what they need to know for food-handling requirements of 2d and 1st Class and Cooking MB. Hmmm, looks like visiting a food service facility will soon be on the agenda.

We took ours to the county health department (req 7) and set up a meeting with one of their specialists. They were shocked at how much of their budget goes toward "education" and how little to treatment. The morbidity statistics were fascinating, as were the different disease distributions. For req 5, nothing beats the wastewater treatment plant for a group of teenaged boys. They LOVED it.

Yes, you can find info at WHO. Always remember, however, to consider the source.

I'm all for stacking badges, but CiN requires touring a "Federal Facility". All the public health facilities in my area (you and I are neighbors) are local or state facilities. You have SO many great opportunities in the Seattle district!

Looking at the other choices for that badge, I'm not sure what the framers had in mind was a post office :(

btw, ks, your photos are excellent!

Well maybe if you lived in Washington DC, I guess you could go to the CDC or the FDA. Yeah, I guess most public health centers are state run, so It won't count for the Citizenship in the Nation. I stand corrected!
Thanks for the complement on my photos! They are appreciated!
