Music badge - concert requirement

Postby kimberbakos » Thu Jun 28, 2007 1:10 pm

For requirement #3, it says to attend a live performance or listen to 3 hrs of music of at least two different styes. Does this mean my son has to attend one performance, or two of two different style of music? I'm trying to plan out our weekends for the summer, and need to determine how many concert events I need to look for to attend.

One concert of whatever style.

If you can't get to a concert, then 3 hours of at least two different styles of music could be used instead.

Thanks! That's what I thought, but I wanted to be sure I was understanding it correctly.

How did the merit badge counselor explain it when the boy asked?

He hasn't called the MB counselor yet. He's focusing on finishing the American Heritage MB right now and hasn't really started working on the music one yet, as in learning a song or looking up the info to answer the worksheet questions. But I figured we could plan on attending a concert or two as a family without him having to "do" anything to make that happen.
