I just have to say that this is the greatest Merit Badge ever. I know from experiance. I spent two years teaching it and undoubtably there is nothing to equal it. At least, not in the nature area. Forget enviromental science, Mammal study should be the required Merit badge.

I dont know about required but I do agree it was a great badge to take. I still recommend it to all scouts that go to camp.
I did enjoy Envi. Sci. , that I felt was definately a great nature badge to take too.

I am taking this badge at summer camp, and the main reason I decided to take it is because I already have the other badges I could take at that certain time. now I'm looking forward to it.

Well depending on the teacher, it could be the greatest merit badge you ever get. it certainly was that way for me. But then anything you spend 20 weeks teaching is bound to affect you. The best part is that its fairly simple. Only five requirements. What camp are you going to?

At our camp, they call this ecology, and it is a very fun badge, working with animals

wait
I thought the names were set by national. Unless you mean the area? it is ecology but so are enviro. sci. nature, geology, fish and wildlife, weather, and many others.
What kind of things have you done for Conservation projects?
