The normal 'maintenance window' for the wiki is 02:00 – 05:30 am, Eastern Time. The wiki should be back online within 1 hour and 30 minutes (two hours, maximum) -- so, never later than 06:00 am ET.

On rare occasions, we may have to perform maintenance during 'normal' hours; but, it should be back online within 15 minutes (30 minutes, maximum).

If the wiki is down for more than 20 minutes during 'normal' hours, please check here for a status report; and, if it has not already been reported, please do so here!

I didn't expect this so soon... MeritBadge.Org experienced a hung server. Here's the status:

Although the wiki itself is UP, the User database is corrupt; so, nobody can log in right now. (Remember, you don't have to log in to use the wiki, just to make edits.)

(Yep, we're working on it.) Grrr!

Just FYI: MeritBadge.Net and MeritBadge.Org are hosted on completely separate servers... in fact, completely separate hosting providers.

You should never see both sites down at the same time.

Just FYI,

I'm not sure what time, exactly, yet... but, I'm planning to take the wiki (MeritBadge.Org) down for a little while sometime later today (outside the normal maintenance window), in order to do a full back-up; repair a database (which is not affecting 99.9% of normal operations, right now); and, if necessary, another back-up afterwards.

If all goes well, it should only be down for about an hour... if that. (Maybe two.)

I'll post any updates here, as needed.

Just FYI... we had a short outage (~20 minutes) on the wiki last night around around 11:00 pm. Fortunately, since the site is now cached (thanks to CloudFlare), that kept our pages there viewable until I could re-boot the server.

GoDaddy's hosting service (or lack thereof, I should say) is beginning to PMO.

Just a note, ya'll...

It seems the server over on the wiki (MeritBadge.Org) is acting up a bit.

So, I'm going to go ahead and take advantage of the situation and perform some unscheduled maintenance this weekend. (IOW, there will be some occasional downtime during the day.) So, not to worry.

I'll post an update here once I'm done.

The site has been down for at least two days that I'm aware of. I get a page from CloudFlare indicating that the site is down and there is no cache of it.

BTW, LOVE THIS SITE!

I just sent a reboot command (power cycle request) to the server...

• The maximum time for this to take effect is 30 minutes; but, it's usually < 5 min.
• 99 times out of a hundred, this will "fix" the problem.

I will post updates here when any changes occur.
