LDS Stake Registration

Postby agdparker » Thu Aug 28, 2014 4:30 pm

I couldn't figure out a good forum in which to put this, so mods feel free to move this where necessary. Maybe we need an LDS Issues forum? I'm currently serving in the Stake Young Men Presidency and so I'm registered as a Unit Commissioner with the district. The council registrar wasn't sure how fees should be paid for LDS unit commissioners like Stake YM Presidency members and Stake Primary Presidency members who choose to serve as unit commissioners.

We looked at the Scouting Handbook put out by the church, the Membership Newsletter and other sources, but couldn't find anything about how they should be paid, especially with Salt Lake now paying for unit-level registrations. It took a few tries, but today I finally got a hold of Dawn at the LDS-BSA Relations office who advised that Stake leaders who register should be registered in their wards either on the unit committee or as a Scouter Reserve. The fees will be paid with the unit registration, then the district level position will be marked as Multiple during re-registration each year.

Hope that helps others out there!

There are non LDS applications to this. I carry a couple of committee members on my venturing crew charter that are active at a higher level but have little or nothing to do with my crew. I used to do this Gratis. With the recent fee increase, I am going to have to reconsider that.
