State Parks in East TX?

Postby LSR » Tue Dec 18, 2007 10:48 pm

I've explored the TX state parks website and can't wait to work off some of the zillion or so calories I've been eating lately. Anyone here been to any of the State Parks in the East TX area?

Lake Livingston and Martin Dies. Lake Somerville, if that counts. I want to go to Sea Rim one day.

The primitive camping on the island in Martin Creek Park looks interesting.

I've never been to that park, but simply looking at the map, it looks appealing. For a state park, you'd be separated from all the other campsites, cabins, etc.

If you go, be sure to let me know how it worked out.

Parks

Just FYI for people trying out these Parks (may help others anywhere as well)...

Please consider taking a 13-508 form with you or filing with your Council later. We're all in Scouting in here, and should be helping others. Pack overnighters can be held at approved sites. Some Councils (we've discussed this previously) recognize the State Parks. Others (mine) will only officially recognize those with "the Form" on file in the immediate two years past. So if you're going anyway, ask me privately and I'll send you the Form. Then send back to me so I can share with Council. My Council only has those on file that I've submitted.
