Look for a "minumum essential" design - just big enough to carry the essentials. We have patrol chuck boxes, but in my opinion they are bigger than they need to be, and the patrols struggle to carry them from trailer to campsite. When my son was in Cub Scouts, we had an even bigger one for the entire Pack stored in the Church basement. My back still remembers that one - it has to be brought up via a narrow stairway. I can't remember the last time it was used. The "essentials" should be patrol cook kit, stove, a first-aid kit, and a little bit of (non-perishable) food.
