I do not have this issue with other secure sites, makes me wonder if this is another "National" computer issue that will never get completly resolved.

Staff registration is now open. If you want to work for the best sign up for aerial sports climbing either as an instructor or helper . The rocks and Boulder cove are beautiful sites to work. For more information you can contact wagionvigil

I have tried on several different servers to get online. No use.
Hopefully National will eventually get this fixed.

wagionvigil, I have plenty of experience climbing. I heard they were low on climbing staffers at the last National Jamboree, and that some were paid. My COPE/Climbing Program Manager cert, TPE, etc., are floating around out there, and multiple councils have my contact information. I presume that, since there's no way to request to be put on an "I'm not up to paying ~$2000 for the pleasure of staffing the Jamboree -- like most things Scouting, National may have my time or my money, but I don't pay for the privilege of volunteering" list, that if National wants more people with climbing experience, and wants to chat with me, then they'll contact me. Otherwise, I won't be applying to staff the Jamboree.

No one in climbing got paid. Zip and canopy were really under staffed and bonsai brought in people to keep those running. In the past two years we have taken over the training for all events at SBR. I understand your point about paying to volunteer but this is nothing new in the BSA. Staff has always paid a fee to staff the NJ. THE FACULTY at Philmont for the conferences and training at PTC also pay a fee.

I'm only familiar with local Unit/District and Council things, like camporees and District training opportunities and summer camp. There's no "double pay -- give us your time and your money" there, at least not that I've encountered yet.

There will be heated showers for staff and transportation to your working area.

Heyy wagionvigil, do you still fit in the staff age slots? Just wondering because I am around your age and might want to become a staff member. Although, it's a big expense to become a volunteer!

Not sure what you mean. I'll be 67 at the Jamboree. As long as you pass your physical your are good.
