Even though I was assured of a position on the Traffic Safety Merit Madge Booth on the Midway, I was only able to confirm that I'd be available for Jambo in December, 2009. I applied on line on 12/5/09. Even with repeated phone calls, it took until 3/5/10 until my application finally cleared Council, and then again after many calls, until Friday morning (4/16/10) until I heard back that my application cleared the Region and National approval process. But I had been put on the "Wait List" for any position. I then called the Director for the MB Midway to see if he could get the assignment finalized. After I talked to the secretary in the office where the MBM Director works, I started to compose an e-mail to my booth chairman. Before I could hit "Send" the Letter of Acceptance arrived in my inbox.
So at least that office works fast.I signed and scanned the LoA and e-mailed it back to the Jambo Registrar, and made my final payment online yesterday. Now I have to wait for the Medical and Travel letters.
But I'll be there again (5th time on staff). See all of you at the Hill, and hopefully in 2013 at the SUMMIT.
