All I have left are my 2 Exlporer shirts from when I was 18. And, yes, I wish I could fit into them, too.

However, even if I could -- I would remove the Eagle badge and replace it with the knot.

i am usually not one that supports the uniform police but I believe that it is inappropriate for adults to wear youth ranks. Doesnt bother me...just question the reasons that an adult would do that.

I was on staff at my camp untill some unfortunate events came about and I am now home. Oh well, the past is the past, I had a BLAST for what time I was there.

Perhaps they were Venturers who can be both an adult when registered with a troop (and over 18) and a youth when registered with a Crew (and under 21). Yep it is true -- a venturer youth can be an adult and registered as both at the same time when the scouting registration is with a troop, and the second registration is with a Crew. Confusing isn't it. When acting as a Venturer, it is appropriate for the venturer to wear the youth rank on his uniform. If he was wearing a scouting shirt, one would need to see if the strip over the right pocket said venture patrol, or venture, as some Crews have adopted that uniform.

Hahaha, man, that was an interesting post. lol. But no, I am 18 now. haha.

Just some personal things, plus I would like to spend some extra time with my family before I go to boot camp.

Well 2008 is history at Camp Conestoga Eberly Scout Reservation. Six wonderful weeks of camping. ALl but two were over maximum. The tower was busy most weeks but we had one week that we had no Climbing MB takers. It was also the lowest week of camp. We held Leaders rappel and Climb on Safely for the adults and had open tower on Fridays for 15-17 year olds. Total towe ruse 455 which or a small camp pretty good. Hope everyone had a great summer camp experience.

Summer camps are over and we are getting ready to decide where to go next year.

We will probably stay close by this year. We have three council summer camps within two hours of our location. Only problem is the Texas heat.

We expect to go to camp next year with 15 boys, which is up from the six we took this year. Another reason for us to stay closer.

Our OA guys that were at Shasta went to a Scout camp out side of Seattle with a great high adventure program. They were saying like 250.00 per person and they furnish just about everything you need. Of course Airfare would have to be added on.

A high adventure camp for $250 is a great price.....but getting there would be the problem.

Our Crew went to Diamond H in Oklahoma this summer. One of the few places with programs just for Venturers (sad to say home council does not). BEAUTIFUL camp - pristine wilderness, if you ignore the few cattle on the property. Expect to use LNT to the fullest. Several ponds to fish/swim. They also have programs for Boy Scouts - you can make as rugged as you want - may not be Philmont, but some hikes were fairly steep - it's in Eastern OK. Outside of scheduled summer program, you do have to make reservation at least 30 days in advance. It's located just north of a little town named Vian.
