Post anything about this year's summer camping program here. MBs you are taking, sweet programs your program offers, 1st yera programs, size of camp, special events, etc.

Picked my merit badges for this summer. I will be taking Soil & Water Conservation at 9:00-9:50 and Motorboating from 11:00 to 11:50. That will bring me up to 33 merit abdges (currently have 30, just need to research careers to finish up graphic arts). I will also need to talk to the Ecology Director then so I can get my World Conservation Award

Huh? All you need is to earn three MBs. Once your troop enters Soil & Water into troopmaster (or whatever software), it will alert the advancement person that you have met the requirements. But go ahead and toalk to the Ecology Director anyway. He's probably lonely.

Well, sort of like that. You have to earn Citizenship in the World, Environmental Science (both of which you earned for your Eagle), and either Soil and Water Conservation or Fish and Wildlife Conservation. Troopmaster will recognize when the 3MBs have been completed and alert the advancement person of the World Conservation Award as well. I don't know about the other award tracking programs/systems.

I know Troopmaster does it for us. It just seemed like a no-brainer for the developers to have included in any software.

I know all of this. It's just that he presents the awards at the dining hall formally I believe.

I want to take motorboating, waterskiing maybe sailing and I am not sure about the others. Maybe an eagle one if their is one I haven't done, but I doubt it.

Looks like I will spend at least two days a week at camp as the council eliminatd COPE this year and I will go in and do Climbing Merit Badge on Thursday and Friday. I do have an 18 year old that will do all the class work and Knots etc early in the week.

I'm SM with T309 camping at Calumet (outpost).
6' 5" with brown/grey hair.

I'm sure we'll bump into each other at 7R.

I'm 5' 3" with T454 (although I'm with Troop 15, just going with them this time) with brown hair and soul*patch. Hopefully we shall rendevous

Sorry...did not really have time to look you up..obviously I did not know your name, either.
We had 8 first year scouts. Busy. Busy. Busy.

I ended up teaching the 10:00 Canoeing MB class on Tuesday and Wed.
Chavez saw me watching both swimming and canoeing classes and asked me to help.
The instructor was there but really didn't know his stuff.
I guess that's the price we pay for being there during the first week.

I also got asked to life guard one afternoon.

My unit commissioner taught Sailing on two days.
(He got to raise the flag on Saturday morning as an appreciation.)

Awesome week weather-wise.

OT: Did you happen to see the leader with the Eagle Medal on his hat (that I saw last year)??
I did not ..but I did not attend the opening campfire, either.....

OT #2: Were you in a BSA field uniform or Indian "uniform" on Friday night?

Neither. Activity uniform.

I was at Camp Orr, Arkansas two weeks ago and had a great time. We had massive Thundrestorms Sunday evening and the following Saturday as we were packing up. The Camp lost power just as we were eating breakfast, and for a while I was sure they were going to sound the "Storm bell", but it didn't get any worse so we were able to leave before yet another storm came.

Best memory of the week was climbing to Antenna Pine. It was an awsome view. No one ever brought the flag we hung back down though.
