Ok people it is time once again for vacation. This year again we have decided to go to Camp Crooked Creek. I will be leaving this afternoon for 1 week of wild fun. I once again will be helping out on the waterfront with the swimming merit badge and others so I want to wish all you silly people that have to work a very merry work week. Also as happens every year it will rain so guess what I dont care. I dont have to listen to a telephone :D :D :D :D :D All I have to do is get up in the middle of the night with homesick kids   and its great.

Good luck at camp. Aquatics is great, best place to be. If it rains that’s ok as long as there’s no lightning on its way you can still swim and it turns anything on a boat into an adventure.

Next year you and your son should check out Seven Ranges....he could a lifeguard there, we have a big waterfront and always need lifeguards (good ones too)...he could also earn his pipestone! (please see my thread on this sub-forum)

ok now that I am back and have had some rest. my son had to pull lifeguard duty during the mile swim and I was needed back at camp for help with some of our younger guys so I did not even try the mile swim this year but we had one boy do it. now Camp Crooked Creek is in the Lincoln Heritage council which is out of Louisville Kentucky. we were considered an out of council troop since we are from the Bluegrass Council based out of Lexington Kentucky. we had a great time but as with every summer camp we had our share of RAIN. our friday night campfire was canceled due to the rain and threat of bad winds and hail. had to spend time in the shower house with some other people and had some kids drop with dehydration problems. most kids were feeling fine on Sat. morning but we had one still weak. I will check on him today. once he has had some junk food and rest he should be fine. but otherwise we had a awesome camp this year. I tried to talk to the kids and help point out what they learned about themselves and hope that that will help them when they make their minds up of how camp went. was it a good camp or a bad camp? that question burns in the minds of parents and I have told them that it was a great camp which it was. sorry so long but I guess when you have a great time at camp and everything went fairly well then I guess my excitement level is just over the edge. so if any of yall have not went to camp to have the experiance then I am sorry for YOU.   because when you bond with some of the kids and everybody has a great time then it has been a great week.

It's not summer camp without at least one storm. :D

We have a saying in our troop:
