Woodbadge Ticket Counselor - What's he/she supposed to do?

Postby Billiken » Fri Oct 17, 2008 12:20 pm

I finished C-13-08 at the end of August.

My council assigned to me a ticket counselor and I sent him my 5 ticket items.
We had never met (and have not yet met face-to-face).

We did talk briefly over the phone, six weeks ago.

How involved are we supposed to be with one another?
Do I just notify him as I complete the ticket items?

Good question. My ticket counseler was also my patrol guide. I sent him my ticket items as they were completed. I also keep him informed on where I stood on each ticket item

Boy were yall lucky. MY ticket counsler was a good scouting friend of mine. I had to talk to him all the time. He made sure that I was doing all my tickets properly. We talked on the phone, Talked via email, and talked face to face. I think I had a wonderful counsler and friend. I would make sure that the counsler and Woodbadger were close enough to do face to face meetings if possible. just because I think that it also made my Woodbadge course awesome for me. And the main problem with my counsler was that he was an eagle and not a BEAR.

I didn't know ticket counselor was a separate job. If I had one, he was my Troop Guide.

He approved the proposed ticket items before we left on day 6.
He kept in contact by phone and email while we were working on the tickets.
He was our contact if we needed to modify or clarify the ticket items.
He was the one to whom we reported our results.
He was the one who we worked with to arrange the bead ceremony after the ticket was done.
