OA Troop Representative

Postby wagionvigil » Sun Aug 29, 2004 9:08 am

This is an overlooked leadership position by most troops. But this is a very important position. The OA is an intregal part of scouting and many only see it as another patch to wear. Many also forget that active in the OA does mean attending service weekends and doing cheerful service for their camp. Remember also that you are only a member of a Lodge if your Dues to the Lodge are current. If you do not pay your yearly Lodge Dues you are not a member and must remove your Lodge Flap. This is where the OA Troop representative comes in. Encouraging Lodge participation and activities. Tracking Troop members and seeing that they take their Brotherhood Interview and seal their Membership in the Order. A Troop representative MUST attend Lodge Functions and get the information out to the troop members, arrange the OA Election in the Troop etc.
