How many troops follow the monthly troop meeting topics that the BSA put in the Scouting Magazine?

We do and we do not. It just depends on things.

We consult them as a starting point during the Patrol Leader Council (PLC)Meeting.

The PLC uses them as a starting point, and then adds to or substitutes other activities that they would like to do.

Basically, I'm in the same boat as those who have spoken beforehand. The suggested monthly meetings offer a great framework and starting point. However, when your program is rolling along, it doesn't always roll in the direction you originally planned for.

Using the monthly meetings as a starting point while being flexible and meeting the needs of the group is a great way to run a troop.

Always sound good but the boys usually plan around the month's campout. Especially making sure the new scouts are ready and are involved.

Our PLC has decided to follow the themes but not in the months they say to do them we are making them fit where we need them most.
