In a conversation with some scouters, it came up that colleges weight an eagle earned at a later age more heavily than the ones earned at a younger age. I do not know if this is really the case or varies by college. It might even have to do weighting recent accomplishments more heavily. Are there any college admissions type out that know? Take it for what it is worth.
I would NOT use this information to slow down a scout eager to advance. My feeling is that scouts advance at they own pace and not for me to set an "ideal age" for earning a rank.
