AquilaNegra2 wrote:#1 son just got a critique back from the Troop Committee regarding his Eagle Project (he had presented it in person, but the committee chair said she needed a few days to look at it at home.) One of the comments was that each troop who had a Scout helping needed a tour permit and an adult from the troop present. My sons have participated in several Eagle projects and none has ever asked for this. Is this overkill, or something that should have been done all along?
Additionally, she is requiring him to add 10% for "scrap". Frankly, if he wastes 10% of his material when most of it comes pre-cut, I'm inclined to let HIM foot the bill.
Do they need a tour permit to drive helpers to the site (about 12 miles)? And, does there need to be an adult from each troop present?
