peach dumplings

this last campout we tried a reciepe out of the scout handbook for peach dumplings. it was absolutely horrible. there was wayyyy too much dough. so, we want to try it again. does anybody have a good recipe for a dutch oven? how about one for chicken and dumpliings?

Well its better if you ad more peaches and cinnamon....... my troop even likes my made on a stove version.... so dont rule it out too fast..... on the other madder I dont have any ideas but freeze dried......

i am by no means giving up. im gonna figure out a way to make this stuff good, even if i have to do it 4 more times. i think im gonna get 6 or 8 cans of peaches, and some milk.

Here's an easy one:

Mountain Dew Peach Dump Cobbler

2 (30 oz.) cans sliced peaches
1 can Mountain Dew, Sprite or 7Up
1 yellow cake mix; dry
Ice cream of your choice

1. Into a 12" Dutch oven add peaches and spread out.
2. Stir in 1/3 cup instant tapioca.
3. Pour cake mix over peaches then pour the soda over the cake mix.
4. Stir to mix completely.
5. Place lid on oven.
6. Bake for 45 minutes to an hour using 12 briquettes top and 12 briquettes bottom.
7. Rotate oven one direction 90º and lid the opposite way, 90º every 15 minutes.

Serve warm with ice cream.

Serves: 8-10

you make it in bags

2 (16-ounce) cans sliced peaches in heavy or light syrup, or in fruit juice, your choice
1/2 cup baking mix (recommended: Bisquick)
1/3 cup sugar
Ground cinnamon
