Popcorn In A Bag

Take two brown lunch bags and place one inside the other. Place a capful of cooking oil and a small amount of unpopped popcorn inside the bag. Fold the bag over at the top and push a stick through. Hold it carefully over hot coals, trying not to let it catch fire. Hopefully the popcorn will pop. The fun is in the trying. Most times the boys become impatient and place the bag too close to the fire and it goes up in flames. It that happens, don't try to save it, just start over. It really does work.

Here's a recipie in a paper bag for breakfast.

Take a few strips of bacon, and line the bottom of the bag with them. Then take hash browns (the frozen kind you can buy in a bag) and toss some of them in there. Then actually break 2 eggs into the bag! Fold the top a few times, and poke a stick through the fold. Don't hold it over open flames, it WILL catch on fire. You just want to hold it above coals/charcoal. 5-6" above usually does the trick, though you want to keep an eye on it.

To eat it, just fold the sides down and eat it out of the bag. No cleanup required!

As many people know, it just varies.

Usually I've had many bags going at once, so I just use one as the "control" and check, check, and check some more. Everything starts to smell pretty good. I wouldn't suggest setting a timer, it just won't work. Just take into consideration how long it would take an omelet to be made (that's pretty much what it is)

Best estimate: 5-15 minutes (depending on the strength of the coals) ALTHOUGH we've had some goof-ups that have taken as long as 45 minutes and STILL not been done. It turns out that the scout triple bagged his, because he was concerned about the paper bag breaking.
