OK. But to join a Crew you must be 15, or 14 and completed 8th grade, right?
I'm just not convinced that most boys are going to leap into the great unknown of Venturing without first acquiring a taste for more adventurous outings.

If it's a crew event, they can do all Venturing-approved activities, right???

I know of one crew that meets at a dive shop & about all they do is Scuba. Boy Scouts is primarily an outdoor program. They are able to take on more advanced activities without worrying about what to do with the younger members.
