NR Area 4 Venturing Summit

Well the 2009 Summit is over close to 200 Ventures and Advisers went to Camp Bucoco in SLippery Riock Pa Moraine Trails Council this past weekend for fun and games, EVeryone had a great time with the Survivor Themed weekend plus all the great activities and party on Saturday. We even converted a GSUSA Troop to Venruring by Sunday morning.I spent the day at the Climbing Tower and worked with their council Climbing director in moving everyone safely through climbing and rappelling. REcruited several action center staffers for the Jamboree also was a result of the weekend. This year we offered a Kodiak course in conjuction with the summit and a scouter from MN drove for 17 hours to attend. Next years Summit will be in Bucktail Council around the same Weekend. THe Yout oficers were elected on Sunday mnorning and they immediately started planing next years event.

2010 is in the books 350 Venturers and Advisors decended upon Camp Mountain Run near Dubois PA this past weekend for Mystery at CMR. Although the weather was iffy (34 and snow) those in attendance had a great time. Saturday was topped off with a Formal Dinner ( yes gowns and Tux or suits etc) , the solving of the Mystery and the presentation of 5 Regional Venturing Leadership Awards. Those honored were Chris Ackerman out going Area 4 President, Missy Ward the New Area 4 presiden( elected on Sunday Morning), Erika Brigg Shaw former ARea 4 President before the realignment, Rick Neff Area 4 youth Cabinet advisor and Jerry Clark Area 4 Venturing Chairman.

Next years Summit will be at Heritage Reservation Farmington,Pa. in April
