How is this program developing in your Council?

Any word from National on acceptance/recognition and support of the organization.

I understand it is growing in some areas.

See the following: http://www.sageventure.com/COD/

Short version - Some Scouters see it as OA for Venture Crews but it truely is MUCH more if applied as originally
intended.

Yes, I know. That is why I asked if anyone had knowledge of National moving in a positive direction and accepting it.

It is growing in the West and Central Regions based on the recent postings on the various sites.

I expect the Corps of Discovery will remain grassroots for many years. The OA did not become a national program for 20 years or more. Anyway, Venturing is more loosely structured than the Boy Scouts so it could take even longer.

Before the Venturing Division was dissolved, we talked to them about the program and the response was that they wanted volunteers to develop the program. This would establish the interest and direction.

As ThunderingWind mentioned, it is growing well in Western and Central Regions. In fact, Central has recognized the Area VOA officers a members and the Area officers are recognizing Council VOA officers.

Hope this helps.

Count me as willing volunteer. Any PowerPoint file(s) out there to use for showing to the Key Three(s) and others to help start?

The website http://www.sageventure.com/COD/ has some presentations that may be helpful. I am not aware of any others. If there are, I will gladly post them on the website.

Hope this helps.
