Attention all Scout Personnel, (See attached flyer)
Centre LifeLink EMS in State College PA is hosting a 2 day Scouts' Wilderness First Aid Course designed specifically for Scouts, Scoutmasters and Venturers. Being held Saturday and Sunday February 21 and 22 in State College, PA, this is a 16-hour certification class that will explore wilderness related injuries, illnesses and the treatment of such in austere environments. This course is above and beyond the scope of any basic first aid class and does not include CPR in its certification. As one of LifeLink’s specialty classes, Wilderness First Aid is one of our most sought after programs and only scheduled a few times per year.
The program is taught by certified Wilderness EMT’s who also are active members of LifeLink’s search and rescue team, CREST, the Central Region Emergency Strike Team. Some also have Scouting or military backgrounds.
Cost on the program is $75.00 per person. That covers all class materials, the textbook, instructor fees and processing of the certification. The Wilderness First Aid card is good for three (3) years. This ECSI certification covers above and beyond requirements for any Philmont crews.
If attending this class is not a possibility, we also do CPR and Basic First Aid courses for scout troops. They can be scheduled as a group or you may attend one of our monthly classes.
For questions, more information or to register, please contact LifeLink Education Coordinator Tracy Reagan at treagan@centrelifelink.com or call 814-237-8163. We’re very pleased to partner with Scouting and offer accredited training programs to your personnel.
