Hi Folks,
I'm not sure where to ask this questions so I though I'd start here.
In the requirements for the Caving Elective there is on that says "Find out what the American National Standards Institute requirements are for helmets."
I googled around and didn't find anyting useful. I went to the ANSI web site and found the number "ASTM – 610-832-9585". I emailed them to get more information and the responce I recieved says,
"Good Morning,
Your desired article is still in its development stage and not available on our ANSI eStandards store.
For further information on the publication, feel free to contact the standard developing organization:
ASTM – 610-832-9585
Kind Regards,

It seems to me that the standard is still under review and when it is finally available it will be at a cost. As standards go this will probably be copywritted so you will not be able to republish or redistribute the standard.
What I have been using up to now are the UIAA and CE standards. There is some good free information on the web about these.
I've also noticed that there are more than a couple climbing helmet manufacturers that don't use an ANSI stardard but do have the CE and/or UIAA.
I'm wondering if there is a way to get the CE and UIAA included on this requirement?
Thanks,
