Specialty codes

Postby cdwscout » Mon Oct 15, 2012 1:02 am

So, regarding the specialty codes that venturing crews are supposed to use... does anybody actually use them? And, if so, is there any way to search out crews by code instead of just by location?

Never heard of the specialty codes. Never been asked about them by anyone (obviously since if I had been asked I would know about them.) I have processed my crew's recharter for last 5 years or so & it is not in that paper work.

From what I understand, these codes are no longer in use.

I believe they were used back in the 90's when Venturing split off from Exploring, and Exploring went to Learning For Life.

The only "special codes" currently asked for on the BSA New-Unit Application are for Soccer and Scouting, and Scoutreach, special interest groups.
