I've been working on my Cubmaster award for a while and I periodically check the Scoutleaderknots.com site to look at other awards. I was very surprised the other day when I saw that most of the Cub-specific awards are being merged into other existing knots. I suspect this has something to do with the "generals" that I see at training events that have so many knots on their uniforms it looks a bit over the top. There may also be other reasons, but I couldn't come up with any.
My first impression is that we're losing some really unique knots and ways to recognize leaders that serve in different areas in Cubs. If they follow the standard pattern of wearing the pin for Cubs, do they get a new pin for each one they earn? Any ideas on what's driving this change?
