Knife Safety Quiz - bad answer on Wiki

Postby arrggg » Mon Oct 21, 2013 4:16 pm

On Page:
http://www.meritbadge.org/wiki/index.php/Whittling_Chip_Course

it states that the correct answer for a "Circle the correct answer" is:
A ( sharp ) knife is more likely to cut you.

I've always learned that a dull knife is more likely to cut you. In fact, earlier on the page it states "A sharp knife is safer to use than a dull knife because it does not require as much force to cut."

I've tried to make a login for the wiki but I just can't seem to do it.

You're right, a dull knife is not as safe as a sharp knife, because a sharp knife will cut what you want, when and how you want it cut. A dull knife won't do that, but it'll still be sharp enough to cut you when you try to force the dull blade and something slips. Try making a login now -- there were some problems earlier, but they should be fixed now. :)

Oh, I see what happened. There's the knife safety quiz, then the questions are repeated again with the correct true/false answer next to them. It says:
False 2. A dull knife is safer than a sharp knife.
This means that this statement is false, a dull knife is not safer than a sharp knife. That is a bit confusing, though, isn't it. Let's see if we can't reword it to be a little clearer.

no, my problem wasn't with the True False section, it was with the "Circle the correct answer" section
