An Eagle BOR Successful!!

Tonight my son successfully completed his Eagle BOR. It is just less than a month until he turns 18, which puts him a few days up on me (I completed mine 3 days before). No real drama in any part of it - he always had confidence he would finish on time and because I have seen him manage other "projects" (homework, extra-curricular stuff, etc.) closer to the deadlines than I would have done, I wasn't really worried (much) (Mom, may be another storry). I'm proud of him and received nothing but good comments from the board when I was called back into the room.

So, now it's done and he can continue with all the other things he is involved in (including Scouts).

Good for him! The main thing I tell scouts who earn their Eagle award at 18 is that it's unfortunate that they can't take it back to their troop as a youth and influence the other guys. A lot of 18 y/o perform the cut and run from the BSA.

I have sat on BOR's and asked questions, I have sit outside of my son's while he went through his, but yesterday was my first after becoming the SM of our Troop. All very rewarding!
