Again, we are not privy to the "serious family issues". He can do what he wants but he might need something positive to help him through his issues and what's more positive than receiving your Eagle Award.

My last post on this one.

Maybe there are no issues involved and the scout just does not want a Eagle COH. That is his decision to make and should not be questioned.
If it is not written down then it is not an official rule

I am unsure why he would not want this, but indeed, its HIS choice. Would a presentation at his troop meeting be ok? Not a huge deal, but like other COHs, here you go, congrats. kinda thing. Just get it done quick. Would he like that?

Not wanting to have an Eagle COH does not show a lack of leadership. It simply says that this boy doesn't want the attention that this type of COH has. And that is his right. As far as showing the younger boys the importance of the Eagle Rank. If he had them help on his project this has already been done. Earning Eagle isn't about the flash and show. It is about how this boy feel inside about himself.

Also if he has already completed his project and has been awarded Eagle he has already completed Communications and has no need to make a speech.

When Kevin receives his Eagle I hope he will want to have a nice COH. But if HE makes the choice not to it will be his choice. I will be disappointed but will honor his decission.
