Eagle Project Proposal Format?

Postby Eagle2007 » Wed Nov 15, 2006 1:54 am

My District Eagle Board Chairman says I have to submit my proposal in a specific format for the next Board to rule on it.

Does anyone know the generic "catch-all" format for submitting a project proposal, if there is one?

Thanks for everything, I'm comming up on my 18th so figuring all this out quickly would be greatly appreciated.

Any additional information you think I should know would also be welcome.

If you are being told to present in a specific format, then you need to be asking the person who will be approving your project to tell you what that format is.

Call him back and ask for specific documentation about how it should be formatted. If that doesn't get you anywhere you should do 2 things. 1) Talk to someone who has had a project approved recently to find out how it was presented. 2) Let your SM know that this guy isn't working with you and maybe he can get some things changed for the next guy.

There is no National format other than the project workbook. In our neck of the woods, the boy fills in the preliminary parts of the workbook and then makes an appointment to see the District Advancement Chair. He will either apporve the project or tell the boy why it needs more work or a different approach.

Look at the Eagle Leadership Service Project Planning Guide. This is something that your SM should of told you about or provided.
If it is not written down then it is not an official rule

The only thing required is what is in the Eagle Project booklet Which you should have been given at your Life COH

Go here http://www.nesa.org/trail/manual.html. This is a standard workbook. The best advise is to talk to someone familar with how your district does it, because they all are a little different.

Agree with FrankJ, start with the generic National form, and ask the person in charge in your district if there are any specific additions or deletions.

There is no format to be added to that contained in the Eagle Leadership Service Project Planning Guide (easily obtained at your local council store). Eagle projects are still under the national NOTHING LESS -- NOTHING MORE policy, and anyone who tells you "we do it differently in your district/council are dead wrong!

Precisely, use Eagle Leadership Service Project Planning Guide. Highly recommend you use the DIGITAL version as it's much easier to edit and update as it gets by you.

Check out this site on the forms section on the opening page. There is an Eagle Work Sheet done in a RTF format. This is the one that our District Advancement Chairman recommends the boys use.
