Thinkin' 'bout my Eagle project

Postby pipestone1991 » Mon Jan 15, 2007 3:07 pm

I'm thinking about doing something at the local nature center.......what could I do? I was thinking about clearing the trails and putting trash cans I make (with the boys of course) along the different trails. Also I think I should put up some signs announcing where hikers are heading. I'm talking to my SM tonight....but what do you think I should do?

Do you have your Project Book? Make sure you keep track of every meeting you have about this Who you met with how long you met. That is very important. If uou meet with your Sm and the JASM and the ASM for a half hour you have 30 x 4 =120 minutes or 2 hours toward your project.

Just make sure your project is approved before doing any of the work on the project. That includes fund raising.

We had a boy would completed his eagle project before his package was approved. The SM informed him that this project wouldn't count for his eagle project. His mother told to the SM, that the project was done and he could do the paper work later. The SM informed the mother that is not the way it works in the Boy Scouts. The scout hasn't turned in a new package yet, he will turn 18 in a few months.

Good luck with your project.

If there is a director at the nature center, contact that person, tell them you would like to do an Eagle project to benefit them, and ask them if they have any ideas of things they would like to have done for them.
