Where were you guys!!! Surely there are some other C4A folks here.

In any case, great weekend of fellowship and fun. Training courses, competions, and fun activities (for me, Climbing tower {easy side, well - not exactly easy for me, but I did make it} and rappelling, rifle, and archery). Even with significant storms forcast we had perfect weather.

You are reffering to Camp Arrowhead, Missouri correct?

Nope, sorry.

I sometimes wonder about organizational things but C4A doesn't go that far.

This is Camp Arrowhead in WV. Part of the Tri-State Area Council that hosted the conclave.

It would certainly seem that way to me as well. At the conclave one of our leaders was relating a story about a Central Region meeting where the WV contingent and the ND contingent agreed that both states were similar. Both are rural and neither belonged in the Central Region. Alas, it was to no avail.

Even a glance at the map of the region makes it clear that WV is just "stuck" on and would make more sense in NE (or some would argue, Southern -- it has a hole where WV belongs, but since WV was formed during the Civil War by staying with the North/Union, NE seems more fitting).

There are currently rearrangements underway, but from what I have been told we will remain Central although there are some Section changes expected.

The problem with spring is there are not enough weekends in it. Scouting gets scheduled on top of scouting. :(

After much consternation, our Arrowmen accepted that they are very important to the success of our summer camp program in setting up camp each spring. And it needs to happen on that particular spring weekend, so our Lodge YOUTH voted to pass on this year's Conclave, the first we've not sent a contingent to that I know of back to 1948. Our ceremonialsists had a clean sweep last year in all three competitions and were looking forward to defending their titles this year. Even with that, we advisors were very proud of their mature decision. I know we weren't the only lodge to pass on this year. But look out - we'll be back next year! Stigwandish - here we come!

I think you had 1 youth in attendance. I talked to him to see why he was the only one there and was told about the schedule conflict.

We always re-arrange our weekend if we we have to work around conclave.
