Watch out for Spymaxx

Postby wagionvigil » Thu Mar 27, 2008 8:26 am

I realize this is not scout related BUT be advised there is a nasty spyware called SPymaxx. It give you false reports trying to get you to buy antispyware that is Non Existant. It takes over every thing in the PC locks your taskmgr sends you to false links after you click on any link. I have been in PC Hell the past three days. My son uses the PC I do not very often, thank the lord for the laptop. My task manager is still locked and am looking for a solution. I believe I did eliminate the spymaxx by using superantispyware. My CA Spyware did nothing.
ANother thing it does it puts a desk top as default in the desktop backgrounds. If I could get to these individulas you would have to visit me in jail.

I had something similar recently and it took Spybot and AVG anti-virus as well as my McAfee anti-virus to clear the blasted thing.

You have my deepest sympathy!

Could be a great Idea. I am back up and normal. I asked questions on Yahoo questions and got the correct answers. Have not a clue where my son hooked up this thing. He is a teacher so he is no kid and he does go to alot of Music sites and some game sites. I am figuring that is where it came from. Look it up and you will see it is causing problems.
