Magellan Triton 300 GPS

Postby WeeWillie » Sun Jan 20, 2008 1:31 am

I purchased a Triton 300 GPS. It is Magellan's latest line of hand held GPS units. It is not ready for prime time. It has potential, but Magellan needs to get their act together. Here is a forum on Triton for info on problems.

Happened to surf in after a long absence.

I've been reading up in forums, reviews, and the geocaching.com web site. This triton is getting the heck beat out of it in the forums. Feature rich but buggy.

The Garmin Colorado is not as feature rich but is getting good feedback. However, at $500 its an expensive puppy.

I ordered then returned the Triton model after not getting any customer service. There web site is poor and phone support is not there. I even went to REI for help even though I did not buy it there. I was told the Triton was recalled not sure aas I did not see a notice.

Go with the Garmin Etrex Vista HCX
