[BOTs]?

Postby WVBeaver05 » Sat Jun 28, 2008 5:43 pm

Interestingly, a couple of times lately I have seen the list of users online including usernames that end with [BOT].

Can anyone explain?

The new version actually recognizes bots/robot computers trying to get into the site. In the old version they would make it and register then We would have to go through and delete each one. A very time consuming process.

I was thinking that they showed up at the bottom of the screen as Registered Users but I'm still recovering from summer camp (had a Greater Pittsburgh Council Troop there, too - but that is a little bit away from your Council as I recall) so maybe I was wrong. The don't seem to show up in Members.

In any case, if the new version helps you all manage the site easier/better that must be considered a good thing.

There is one there now and it does show up as a Registered User, but no link to the member page like a regular user. Looks like that is just the way the new version of the software manages it.

Again, if it helps it's good.

The new version seems to keep the EDIT buttons on my previous posts. Thanks!
