submissions that have become merit badges

Does anyone have a sucess story about submitting a merit badge
idea that has been adopted by the national office and turned
into a currently used merit badge?

I would love to know details. How long did it take. Did you
get reognition for your efforts. Things like that.

I submitted an idea for a merit badge in 2000, got a nice
letter from National, but have not heard from them since.

Just curious.

Perhaps they'll resurect Botony and Zoology soon as well.

I was fortunate to be among the last to earn them.

I write articles for my troop and I was wandering if you guys
could pm me your opinions on the new badge and Firefish could
you send me information on what the new badge entails. I need
any kind of information you can muster.
