Combining MBs

What do you all think about possibly combining certain merit badges -- like fishing and fly fishing to create something like Rifle Shooting where you can choose from a number of courses. That would allow some room for more creative badges-- like biology or physics.

Actully Fishing and Fy Fishing used to be one badge and were only recently separated into two different badges, as were Rifle Shooting and Shotgun Shooting.

The reason is, they are seen as requiring totally different skill sets, unique equipment, and are often practiced as separate areas of interest .

What I mean is look at the Rife Shooting Merit Badge: You can complete a set of requirements for Air rifels, Modern-cartridge rifles, and muzzleloading rifles.
