Here's one for the "
Out of the mouths of new Scouts category"
I was talking with our Scouts about Tracking MB and the photography requirement (points for different animals).
I told the guys they should keep a camera handy to photograph the various animals needed for the MB.
QUESTION FROM A NEW SCOUT:
"Mr. Billiken, why don't we just take our cameras to the zoo?"

And you said?
Smart kid...Make him the SPL or get him on National's staff ASAP. He can also do the Human Tracking requirement at the Zoo too.

My tenderfoot scout has had so much fun working on the pictures for this badge. He is taking it next week and camp. His youngest brother, while still a Webelos scout, has had fun with it, too. Unfortunately, he won't have a shot at it. My favorite quote for the two of them...Mom, it's amazing how many animals we can find when we're quiet.
