My sons volunteer at the library, and the food bank. Would those be considered service projects also?

They would be service hours but not a project. A project is something they come up with, Plan Organize and see through with.

I do have a lot to learn about the BSA and this forum....... I unintentionally started a new discussion when I actually wanted to add my question to the "Service hours" topic.

The hours in the library could also be used for the reading merit badge.

This would also work as community service for the Citizen in cCommunity merit badge.
