World Conservation Award

Postby Mrw » Sat Sep 16, 2006 11:57 am

I have two boys in our troop who have completed the appropriate badges to earn this award.

My question is whether this goes on a regular advancement report or does it have a separate form?

Way back when I had Cubs, there was a separate form, but that was years ago.

Thanks!

When a couple of boys in my troop earned the award, I discovered that our council did not have an application form. So I did a search on the net, found a form from another council, and turned that in. The council accepted the form and I was able to present the boys with their award.

Our council uses a special form for this and it does not get recorded on the advancement sheet (normally used for badge and ranks).

There is a national application form.
Quoting from http://www.scouting.org/boyscouts/resources/18-954/

"World Conservation Award—This distinctive panda patch, No. 00140, is earned by Scouts who complete the Environmental Science, Citizenship in the World, and either Soil and Water Conservation or Fish and Wildlife Management merit badges, and complete the World Conservation Award application, No. 21-156."

However, national has not seen fit to include this form on their website. It is online in several other places, however. The most recent printing I found is a 1999 printing at http://www.pinetreebsa.org/resources/fo ... nserBS.pdf

... better yet is a fill-in form, so you can complete before printing for readability (a plus for those of us whose penmanship has been routinely compared to chicken scratch, and usually not in a favorable light!)
