Least Favorite MB

I think's today's least favorite MB is PERSONAL MANAGEMENT. If it wasn't on the required list, few would get it. (One didn't have to get it in my day)

My favorite: Canoeing

My least favorite: None, I liked every MB I ever got, 26 of them.

Why was it a mistake to take CIW at 13? I know lots of kids who have taken it early in their Scouting career?

because it's very boring and slightly difficult. It's just usually one of those badges that is better for older scouts.

I took CIW at 12 and got the badge at least I got it over with

Least favorite: Basketry ... not enough substance. Too much of a "gimme"

Kevin did Citizenship of Community and World when he was 11. Loved them. His Social Studies teacher at school helped them on World. Since the lesson program covered almost all the requirements. He is having the hardest time with Personal Management. Just can't get into it.

my favorite so far is leatherworking. it is so dang easy. it took me about 15 minutes to do it all.

my least favorite so far is personal fitness. it is so hard to keep up with everything for 3 monthes.

i actually enjoyed personal management. when i took e.science i was young and the councilor was a moron. but i would not say it was my least favorite...that would have to fall under Swimming. I cant swim...at all. I tried cycling, but couldnt find a michigan councilor to do the 50 miler, and hiking was out of the question. 2004 they changed the badge for the ...500 millionth time, and made it more challenging.

As a councilor, I dont like what they have done to computers, in the way they havent updated it...at all. Period. Last update was in 1993. The book still talks about dial up modems...I mean COME ON NOW!

Favorite: Pioneering, Camping or Graphic Arts (<< Love teaching this one to the boys...i love to see what they can come up with on Photoshop)

Computers has just been updates and is much more current with technology now.

As a suggestion to other boys who are trying to do cycling and need help with the 50 miler.

Look up the bike clubs in your area or contact the local shops for help. There should be organized day tours and/or club rides available that you could go on.

So far, in my Life Scout's journey, his least favorite has been Art. He did it at summer camp, and it took all of 15 minutes. His favorite so far...Cycling. Him and 3 others did their 50 mile ride this past weekend.

Wow, I could have fun with Art, since I like it along with too many interests, haha. But, of course I can't do MB's except as MBC, haha.

This would have been a creative approach, and may help someone else. Afterall, they don't need to be done quickly.

Someone interested in cycling, could have told a Ride story, using pics. Neat, and a requirement.

Least favorite: Fingerprinting

Hmmm, one of my Districts is now seeking "willing" Fingerprinting instructors. Any ideas, haha.

My boys saw a local police officer for their fingerprinting badges. And yes, they said it was really easy too.
