camp for 2006

Ok scouts and scouters it time to start getting ready for summer camp 2006. have your reservations been made? have you talked up camp? have you thought about the first year program? have you secured enough leaders to go? have you gotten your early bird payments in yet? have you got the parents pumped up? have you got the kids pumped up? just a reminder that summer camp is only 4-5 months away. seems like a long time but just remember that planning makes for the perfect camp/

We already have our week booked. have begun to talk to the boys and parents about it. Have our leadership lined up and are ready to start collecting money in a few weeks to get the early registration discount.

We made our selection for 06 back when trying to make a selection for camp last year. We wanted to go to our camp we are going this year, last year, but they were booked the week we want (79/-7/15, GM shut down week) so we made reservations at the camp for 06. We were the first ones.

This camp is looking to be a great one.

Yes they are getting really excited about summer camp. In fact I am still active with the Cub Scout troop and the boys that are not crossing over for 2 more weeks were talking about it tonight as well.

The one thing they did not like is that since they are going to three diffrent troops they are going three diffrent weeks. I reminded them it would be OK, that they will meet lots of new friends and they can still keep in touch and will see each other at other events.

I have already paid a portion of my son's camp fee. Of course now I find out about a conflict (my other post) but we are going to find a way to work things out for him.

I am sooo excited for the boys that are going for the first time. I am sure they will have a blast and learn a great deal. I am staying home. My son can use the time away from mom. He went to Webelos Resident Camp with out me last year. He had a blast and I was a wreck. I figure this summer will be the same only I have a few shorter outings to make it easier.

1st years are going camping this month at the summer camp while the older boys are attending MBU.

Summer Camp presentation will be presented to start getting committment from scouts and families at our Spring COH at the end of the month.

Well, i lead a den of now 2nd year Webelos, they can't wait to do their first weeklong. I'm working Camp Staff in June, and we're going to Resident Camp in July. I'm ready to go back to Boy Scouts, i'm a big time camper, and these kids love it to, so i'll probably end up following them whichever troop they go to

well, this year we're a little behind on our schedule right now. we've talked it up, and a lot of the kidas cant wait to go ( or go back). but, on the other hand, none of our paperworks done up. and to recieve the $20 discount, it all has to be in by April 1 ( i think). so, we kinda gotta get the ball rolliing.

Our week at the Council camp was booked on April 1 of 05. Next year's week will be booked on April 3 this year.

Our Council camp is Heritage Scout Reservation (Camp Freedom and Camp Liberty).

We are also taking a group up to Custaloga Town Scout Reservation the last week of June.

I have been there, however it was almost 30 years ago. I actually worked on the Camp Staff in 1977. I did my youth tenure in Troop 15 located in Erie, PA. Now I m the SM of Troop 1111 from the Greater Pittsburgh Council. I am looking forward to seeing how the camp has changed over the years.

i can agree with that. ive gon hiking on the AT the last 3 yrs. it isnt looking too good this summer for a trip though

maybe. i wont be up there during the day ( b/c of my job) but, i will be up there at night.

i dont think it has changed all that much. the food might've gotten worse but other than that, i dont think it has.
