Come to Camp Onway for 2006!!

Postby NSVN64GW » Sun May 07, 2006 8:07 pm

Hey everybody. I'm the Archery Director and Assistant Program director from Camp Onway in Raymond NH, and I am asking troops who are undecided about where to go for a summer to camp to come to Camp Onway. For the past two years we have been lacking in attendance, because of the declining number of scouts in the council.
We have an outstanding program this year, this years theme is Pirate Olympics. It's going to be quite interesting and FUN.

The camp is very "first year" friendly. We have a woodsmen program that teaches tenderfoot, 2nd class, and first class requirements. We have a huge Aquatics area, which also has a motorboat. We have a good sized Rifle Range. We have an Archery Range that was revamped two years ago, and will have totally revamped equipment this year. We have a handicrafts building, sports area, scoutcraft, and we are also offering the Climbing Merit Badge.

The staff is outstanding, we get involved with all the activities and are always open to help out new scouts.

Please consider this, you are garunteed to have a good time at this camp. I've been attending this camp since 2000, and have been working there since 2003. It's quite an experience.

Thanks for the notice about Camp Onway. My troop went again this year and we were very impressed with this year’s program. As always we had a blast and can't wait for next year. Many of the new scouts who attended felt very welcomed by the extremely friendly staff. The new scouts were also able to finish most of the requirements for tenderfoot, second class, and first class, thanks to the woodsmen program. I've been going to Camp Onway since 1999, and it is really turning around. This year was great; I especially enjoyed the carrot cake served in the dining hall..... Let’s hope for five camp sessions next year!
