............yes, my friends, I'd like more info about the Venturing groups. I'm one of those ol' scouters, earning the Eagle Award in 1977, then getting back into scouting in 1999 when my son turned 6. My son is now a 1st Class Scout & loves getting out with the troop. Speaking about getting out, I enjoy camping with the kids & feel it's a calling for me.
If you're curious, here's a link to an recent outing:

I have a daughter that's 10 now & really misses the camping when my son was a cub scout. ( As CM, we took her with us to every campout. ) She loves things like caving, canoes, whitewater, camping & anything else scouting related. Girl Scouts for her was a joke. The GS around here are the shopping mall types. Regarding the girls joining the crews, bring 'em on because my wife can't wait to go with us. She loves the camping part & is ready to go!
Anyway...........I've read some things about Venturing but the internet info is too confusing. I want to get a crew started just before my 10 year old turns 14.
Our council office is 3 hours drive from here.... so... other than sending me the BSA info, they aren't much help to me.
So....can anyone here post a link about Venturing that makes some sense?? Regarding outings, I have plenty of ideas of things to do, I'm looking for meeting ideas, etc. to keep the scouts interested in between outings. I have plenty of time to get one started but I don't want to wait too long to research it out.
Thanks in advance....................see ya yardhunter
