I do have a question, it concerns recording advancements not the fact that the Scout has performed the requirments.
We have an Eagle Scout that's still active in the troop. He has earned enough merit badges to earn not just the bronze palm, but the Gold one also. Unfortunatly there was a change in not only the Scout Master but also the majority of the troop committee (long story and no it wasn't a bad one just confusing).
The issue was that the previous coordinator did not record anything. The SM mentioned that the Eagle had enough badges to qualify. Now my question. This web site (meritbadge.com shows that one must complete both a SM conference and a Board of review but the book that my son owns only shows the board of reviews for each of the merit badges earned. I'm just curious if the website has been updated recently or if the book is more current. Also what would the board go over with the Eagle that we haven't already gone over when the young man earned the merit badges?
Common sense tells me that the BOR was accomplished when the Eagle earned the badges and should not be necessary for Palms. The only reason that I even have the question is that we do have a very by the book person on the board and I don't want to cause issues by sending in the paperwork for this Eagle without going through the Board
