congrats pipestone!!! :D :D 8)

i made life alomst a year ago. i got my project and a couple MB's done right away, and i was planning on being Eagle by May, then by June, Then by the end of summer, then by christmas, now im looking to about March. I have 4 more MB's to do, only one of which has a time period, if i start now, by march, i should be allright.

if there is a little advice i could offer you, it is: A. Get your project started and done ASAP (but make it something you will be proud of), and dont wait till the last minute to get MB's that have times on them done (family life, Personal management, personal fitness,etc.). most of all though, if you have time (like i do), take it. there is no rush to get to eagle (as long as u have time). i think in the past 2 yrs or so, ive gotten more out of scouting than ever.

congrats again.

My now 16 year old son made Life in July of 2005. He has a project in mind, and only needs to contact the counselor on 2 MB's. At this point, I don't see him completing his journey. He gets fired up about it....for a few days, then just forgets about it. I generally ask him once a week or so if he has done anything, and all I get is "I am working on it." But, it is his decision, not mine.
Keep up the good work Pipestone, and hacimsaalk, and all the others out there.

I have heard the same story from other boys about getting to Eagle.

One scout who just entered high school and has a hard time attending now stood up at a meeting and told the boys to get it done early.

He said he gets5-6hours of homework to do plus extra curricular activities.

The advice i have to offer to scouts is get a plan . Make sure you have enough time for personal mgmt, family life etc. Plan youir project.

I speak with our Life Scout andI do ask how its going.

We have the Eagle Mentor Program it helps. I am assuming this is anational program not just a council program.
