Scout law...Courtesy

I follow several messageboards. Occationally, a post is made that offends someone. Then everyone starts jumping on one side or the other. Everyone has to sound off on the issue and the problem just seems to grow and feed on itself. This can really bring down a good messageboard.

Please, I like this messageboard! Don't let it degrade into a combative board.

My suggestion...Be Courteous. If there is a post that offends you, shrug it off. Especially if it wasn't even aimed at you. Most combative posts start where someone not involved hijacks the thread and tries to "Defend" someone.

Most times a simple polite PM will result in an appology. Both parties are happy and the message board stays positive.

We are all scouters and should act like.

I'm a moderator of another board and we do not let argueing start period. If someone makes a post against someone I remove it and give them a warning, there is not a second warning they are gone. we some times place the entrie were everyone can see it so they know not what to write but if it is real bad it go's to were only moderators can see it. We all are on here to support scouting, answer the question with facts if you know them. If not don't make smart comments to people that are trying to find out answers to things they need to know.

Excellent idea, I've seen too many boards reduced to internet shouting matches.
